Are You Loved?
Worship on August 30th was lead by Kris Nickerson, and she shares her message here…
Do you feel loved?
Do you feel forgiven?
I believe many of us struggle with unforgiveness and self-blame.
Instead of letting God’s love cleanse our hearts and minds, allowing us to be
free of guilt , we hang on tightly to feelings which harm and hurt us and
others we love.
It seems to me that at times people make themselves physically ill from
holding in extreme guilt feelings.
In Ephesians 6:13 where it says ‘resist the enemy whenever he
attacks’………Could one of those enemies be those nasty feelings of
Unforgiveness?
I found this amazing little book by Richard Paul Evans
The Four Doors
*The 1st Door – Believe there is a reason YOU were born
Read page 33 (quote and paragraph)
*The 2nd Door – Free yourself from limitation
Read page 43 A hungry man……..
We can confront mystery and be different, finding excitement and awe
Of discovery.
*The 3rd door – Magnify your life
Read page 103…Helen Keller quote
……….use each of your talents and gifts utilizing imagination, risk, work
and consistent effort.
*The 4th Door – Develop a Love-Centered Map
……………by projecting Love
For instance if you’re late for an appointment and you become stuck behind
A traffic accident; instead of projecting anger, say to yourself………p.134
I believe that standing in God’s light in all situations is really the only
helpful Way to magnify His Love, showing those in the world that our lives are
Changed……..we are forgiven because of our faith in the Living Christ.
As the structure of the United Church of Canada changes I pray that we will
Work together as a community of faith knowing we are loved and forgiven.
Amen
